One of my friend purchased a brand new Wireless Router and asked the help of their customer support to setup the wireless device. The technician on the other side was courteous enough to setup this wireless with a strong wireless key. Later he discussed with his friend, about the service he got from the wireless technician, he inquired which wireless encryption they set on the wireless router. My friend is not good in wireless so he said it is a ten digit number which is used as wireless key. His friend said he should change the current encryption as it is very easy to break and sneak in to his wireless network. So he asked me why his friend suggested him to change his wireless key.

He is using WEP 64 bit (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption on his wireless network as its wireless key is 10 digit alpha numeric key (ie: 1 to 9 and A to F ).

Is it recommended to use WEP on your Wi-Fi ?

WEP is the basic wireless encryption available now with high wireless performance and least wireless security. If you are really concerned about the security of your wireless network, you should not use WEP as your wireless encryption. It is proven that WEP is easy to break using small freebie software available in Internet. Using WEP 128 bit encryption is better than WEP 64 bit encryption but I recommend you to start using WPA (Wifi Protected Access) for your wireless network.

If you are worried about the security of your wifi network , WPA is far far better than WEP. It is heard that even WPA network is hacked in an experiment done by certain wireless security specialists. So what they suggest is forget about WEP and WPA.. if you really concern about security , upgrade your wifi security to WPA2 at-least. So in the hands of a crooked minded wifi hacker both WEP and WPA are useless.

Protect your Computer from overheating -keep PC cool

I am writing this post regarding the over heating of computer due to my today's experience. My computer suddenly stop working and shut down immediately. At first I wondered what is the reason behind this and I restated my computer. When my computer restarted it showed me the previous shutdown was due to processor over heat. Due to the over heating issue my computer shutdown immediately to avoid further damage.


Reasons for Computer Overheating issues




The major reasons for processor overheats are :

1. CPU fan failed to work

2. Heat sink issue

3. Dust inside the cabinet

4. Flow of hot air from cabinet blocked

5. PC Overclocking


If there is any heat related issues happen in your computer, at first place we should check your cabinet fan and processor fan. If the fans in your computer cabinet is not working properly, it can increase the temperature inside the CPU.

Another reason is heat sink may be not doing its job properly. Heat sink is the device which is designed to remove over heat from processor to surrounding air and keep the processor cool. The dust inside the cabinet can indirectly increase the temperature inside your computer cabinet. It can reduce the speed and functionality of your computer fan.

Another major reason for CPU overheating is the denial of free flow of hot air from your computer cabinet. This can increase the temperature inside your computer cabinet. PC overclocking too can increase the temperature produced by your CPU.

Solutions to avoid PC overheating issues

The first step we should do is to check whether the fans in your cabinet are working properly or not. If there is any issue with fans, change the fan immediately. Changing heat sink and revert back overclocking are other options to reduce computer overheating. Always make sure that hot air flow from your computer is not blocked by surrounding materials. If there is any dust inside your cabinet, clean that.

If there is any wireless filter set on your computer to prevent your computer from connecting to a specific wireless network, you can remove it from command prompt itself. The syntax for the command to delete filter from your computer is:

netsh wlan delete filter permission={allow|block|denyall} ssid=NETWORKNAME networktype={infrastructure|adhoc}

Let us see how we can use this command to delete already created wireless filter from our computer.

First of all we should check whether any wireless filter enabled in our computer or not by typing the following command on command prompt.

netsh wlan show filters

Show already created wireless filters in my computer

If the Wireless AutoConfig Service is not running on your computer, it may show some error message. To enable this service click on the link below.


Start wlansvc (Wireless AutoConfig Service) on your computer

Now we can type the command to delete this wlan filter enabled in our computer.

netsh wlan delete filter permission=block ssid=siju1 networktype=adhoc

Please make sure that your command prompt is running as administrator to run this command. Steps to start your command prompt as administrator are:

Since the images that a digital camera captures is in electronic form, it is a language recognized by computers. This language is called pixels, tiny colored dots represented by ones and zeros that make up the picture that you took. like any conventional cameras, a digital camera is furnished with a series of lenses that focus the light and creates the picture that you require to capture. The difference here is then; a conventional camera focuses its light on a film while a digital camera focuses the light in to a semiconductor gizmo that electronically records the light.
